Ephesians 1:1-14

Redemption – Revelation – Resurrection – Reconciliation - Remedy

So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, "If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."
They answered Him, "We are Abraham's descendants and have never yet been enslaved to anyone; how is it that You say, 'You will become free'?"
Jesus answered them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin." John 8:31-34

What is the meaning of Redemption?

  • Everyone is in need of redemption.
    • Romans 3:23 "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
  • Christ's redemption has freed us from guilt as
    • Romans 3:24 says we are being "justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus."

Resurrection means the worst thing is never the last thing.
– Author Frederick Buechner

I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. Galatians 3:20
