Themes In Samuel
- God overrules in human affairs, great and small, to accomplish His purpose.
- God always acts in the best interest of His people, whether He blesses, judges, or teaches.
- God always calls appropriate leaders for His work and uses them to move His plan along.
- God is present with His people and never abandons them.
- God is a righteous God and expects His children to reflect His character.
- God is at work in the most minute details of history working out His purpose for His children.

Praying Parents
- I Samuel 1:28 – Hannah "Lent (dedicated) him to the Lord"
- Parents:
- Pray for and value your child
- Treat children as a gift from God (Psalm 127)
- Dedicate your child to the Lord for life
- Continue in your concern for the child even after departure. (Parenting always changes and never ends)
- Samuel’s character was formed by these actions and attitudes as he served as a prophet and judge.
Hannah’s Prayer - I Samuel 2:1-11
- Vss 1-2 - Celebrating God’s omnipotence (power) & holiness
- Vs 3 - God silences His critics
- Vss 4-8 - God reverses fortunes
- Vs 9 - God provides for His people
- Vs 10 - God ultimately deals with His adversaries and exults the king.
